What is Alleviate?

Updated by Alleviate. Facts carry the date they were true.

Alleviate is the ImpactOps platform for nonprofits: programs, funding, proposals, compliance, finance, volunteers, reporting and an AI assistant in one system. It is made by Alleviate Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation founded in Washington, DC, and it is free to start.

What it does

Alleviate runs the operating side of a mission organization in one place. Ten modules share one record of the organization: program management, funding alerts, ai proposal writer, compliance calendar and filings, finance and fund management, volunteer management, expert marketplace, readiness assessment, alleviate transformation program (atp), website builder.

The record is the point. A program's participants, budget, outcomes and funder reports live together, so a year end report or a funder update is assembled from data the organization already keeps, not rebuilt from spreadsheets.

Kay, the AI assistant inside the platform, drafts from that record: a proposal section from the organization profile and its documents, a compliance explanation, a first draft of a report. Kay always says it is an AI, flags gaps before drafting, and a person approves anything that leaves the system.

Who it is for

US 501(c)(3) nonprofits, with a program for newly recognized organizations setting up their first year (Start Right) and prices by country for NGOs elsewhere. The free readiness assessment has been taken by 440 organizations in 33 countries as of October 27, 2026.

Funders and grantmakers use the funder portal to see program progress from the organizations they fund. Consultants and experts who serve nonprofits list in the marketplace. Networks and government programs run several organizations under one Enterprise account.

How it differs from a donor CRM

Fundraising tools tell you who gave. Alleviate tells you what changed. A donor CRM records gifts and donors. Alleviate records what the organization does with the money and what came of it, keeps the filings and registrations that let it keep operating, and reports on all of it. Giving and donor receipts are included, but the center of the system is the program, not the gift.

What it costs

In the United States as of October 29, 2026: Starter is free; Growth is $149 a month or $1,430.40 a year; Pro is $299 a month or $2,870.40 a year; Enterprise is priced per network. Other countries see their own price on the pricing page. The full breakdown is in "How much does Alleviate cost?".

Who it is not for

  • An organization that only needs a donor database and online giving pages. A dedicated donor CRM is the lighter choice; Alleviate includes giving, but it is built around programs.
  • Human services agencies that need case management for individual clients with clinical or confidential case files. Alleviate tracks programs and participants; it is not a case management system.
  • An accounting ledger or payroll. The finance module manages funds, budgets and restricted grants and connects to QuickBooks on Pro; your books of record stay in your accounting system.
  • Organizations that require an installation on their own servers. Alleviate is a cloud service hosted in the United States.
