NGOs are mission-rich but systems-poor. They know what the problem is. They have the relationships, the community trust, and the commitment to solve it. What they lack is the infrastructure to do it at scale, to attract funding, manage programs rigorously, and demonstrate impact in terms funders can act on.
The tools available to them were built for corporations, adapted badly for nonprofits, or built for nonprofits but cheaply. None of them connect. The result is that organizations doing the most important work in the world are spending a third of their time on administration that should be automated, and losing grants to organizations that are not smarter, just better organized.
Alleviate is built to change that. Not with a tool for one problem. With an operating system that handles all of it, and that compounds in value the longer an organization uses it.
Robert Okine is a technology entrepreneur, digital transformation leader, and international development practitioner. He is the Founder and CEO of Alleviate Technologies, Inc. and Executive Director of the Alleviate Foundation.
Before founding Alleviate, Robert built and led Bewsys Inc., a global software and consulting firm that delivered digital systems for UNICEF, UNDP, USAID, the World Bank, and FAO across agriculture, social protection, health, and e-governance programs. Systems he built are running in Ghana, Rwanda, the DRC, Fiji, Vanuatu, and more than 60 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.
He relocated from Accra to Washington, DC to build Alleviate as a venture-ready company. The platform is the synthesis of 15 years of watching organizations fail not from lack of mission or commitment, but from lack of the right infrastructure.
“The organizations winning grants right now are not smarter than yours. They are better organized. Alleviate is how you close that gap.”
The mission
extends beyond
who can pay.
Alleviate Technologies builds the commercial platform. The Alleviate Foundation ensures that the organizations doing the most important work, often with the least resources, can access it.
The Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, DC. It operates two programs: the Digital Capacity Access Program (DCAP) and the Alleviate Transformation Program (ATP) Scholarship, which funds access to the ATP for organizations that cannot access standard pricing.

The people
behind the mission.
The Alleviate Foundation is governed by an independent board. Its members bring expertise in development finance, international grant management, venture capital, AI governance, and corporate finance.
Building with
trusted networks.
Alleviate grows through institutional partnerships with apex bodies, civil society networks, and development organizations that trust the platform enough to recommend it to their members.
